April 30th

Box #1
~ Box still remains empty.  (Im)Patiently awaiting new occupants.

Box #2
~ 5 eggs!  A pair of Bluebirds were sitting in the tree branches behind the nest.  Did the best I could with my phone.  Will have to remember my camera.

TREE SPARROW


May 6th ~ A Tree Sparrow has been spotted on and near Box #1.  Just hoping he decided to make it a home.

 

May 8th ~ The beginnings of what looks like a Tree Sparrow nest is appearing.  A lot of pine needles on the bottom of the box.


May 13th ~ The Tree Sparrows have made a wonderful nest of pine needles and feathers.  Hope all goes well for them.

May 5th ~ We have some sad news, upon checking Box #1, all six eggs were removed by a predator we believe to be a raccoon.  We have cleaned out Box #1 and are hoping for the return of a friendly species.

Anytime we are going in or out of the building, we always have an audience.

May 5th ~ Our first Bluebird egg is in the process of hatching.

May 8th ~ We now have five hatchlings!  They are just so wonderful!

May 13th ~ These five little hatchlings are growing so fast!

BLUEBIRDS

April 11th ~ Box #2 has Bluebirds nesting.  A nest of grass and small twigs.

April 18th ~ Our first Bluebird egg has appeared!

April 21st ~ FOUR EGGS!  The Bluebirds are always very near and close to the box near the staff entrance, and it is just fabulous being able to see them on a daily basis.

April 27th ~  FIVE EGGS!  We have busy birds.  Looking forward to the future.


BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE

April 11th ~ our monitoring results yielded nests in both boxes, not just one!
Box #1 has a Black-capped Chickadee nesting.  A beautiful nest of moss, animal hair, and with feather atop.

April 21st ~ Our first Black-capped Chickadee egg appeared

April 27th ~ SIX eggs!  We are so excited!  We will keep watching.
